QDROs

Dividing a pension, 401(k), or other retirement account in a divorce usually requires a special type of court order called a Qualified Domestic Relations Order, or QDRO (pronounced “quadro”).

I have prepared and reviewed hundreds of QDROs and can assist you in taking the steps necessary to ensure that you receive the retirement account benefits you are entitled to receive.

Types of retirement plans divided:

  • Defined contribution plans (e.g. 401(k) and 403(b))
  • Defined benefit plans (e.g. traditional pension plans)
  • Government plans (e.g. New York State and Local Retirement System (NYSLRS), New York State Teachers’ Retirement System (NYSTRS), New York State Deferred Compensation Plan, Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), Railroad Retirement benefits)
